Fasting on Yom Kippur
During discussions of Yom Kippur, an argument was presented that nowhere does the Scripture indicate that fasting is a requirement of Yom Kippur. This struck me as an odd thing, even dangerous. I had not even heard such a thing before. I didn’t know that there was any debate over this issue among observant Jews. I knew that some Reformed Jews would casually work and not fast on Yom Kippur, but was not aware that there were other groups in the Jewish community that did not believe that fasting was a requirement of Yom Kippur.
Site Introduction
We are just starting to populate the site with information. Please be patient as we work through this. There is so much to share, and it is going to take a good deal of time to put it all together.
We have got a basic outline in place for the Parashot from Bereishit. This is going to contain alot more information. If you have suggestions for information or some insight on certain sections, please leave a comment on that page.
Welcome!
As we study Torah there is one thing that stands clear. Every member of Israel, the bride of the coming Messiah, studies the same text at the same time.
We perform prayers that are essentially the same in thousands of communities arround the globe. In a sense, there is a continuous elevation of prayer for the community and our relationship to Elohim at all times.
Please use the book navigation menues on the right to access the various study materials we are assembling.
May Elohim bless you in your studies.
Shalom,
